I started wearing contacts again because I started going to the gym. Going to the gym wearing glasses doesn't seem right to me. So every morning before I go to the gym, I go through the arduous task of poking my eyes repeatedly. If I'm lucky, it takes less than 5 minutes. If not, it takes me around 10,000 years.
Today was not a good day for contacts and me. I had the right lens down spat in less than a minute but when it got to putting the left one on, that's when the trouble started.
First try, I was able to put it on but after a few seconds, realized that it was insufferably painful. Like someone poking your eye with a stick every other second. I concluded that it must be because I put it on wrong side up. So I removed it. In the process of cleaning the lens it got tumbly and I was not able to remember which side was right so by the time I was able to put it in again, it was still painful. After 10,000 years, I was finally able to see albeit with a little blurriness as the contacts I just put on does not do anything to correct my astigmatism.
For the benefit of all the contact wearers out there, or all the near-sighted people planning on wearing contacts, I'm listing here the reasons I prefer glasses.
10 reasons not to wear contacts:
1. Makes you sleepy (at least for me)
2. Takes too long to put on
3. Takes too long to put off
4. Dangerous if you forget to take them off before sleeping
5. Expensive
6. More expensive if you have astigmatism
7. Dries your eyes out
8. Irritating
9. Easily lost
10. Easily tears
