Oui je parle français

I've just my report for my MA class. Next one's not until August 11 so I still have a lot of time to do that. Currently looking for a good short story to translate from French to English. Thinking of translating "La Vénus d'Ille" but I think it may be too difficult. Aside from French, it uses Greek and Latin and I'm not sure if average French speakers are able to understand them. If they are able to understand these quotes, this will be a problem to translate into English. I don't know a lot of English speakers who can readily understand Greek or Latin.

This course is proving much difficult and time-consuming than I expected. Nikki has suggested that I transfer to another track. And I am thinking that that would be a good idea since I'm fed already fed up with translation as I also do it at work. I am still weighing my options though as I really like translation. Semester after semester of translation classes though are wearing down my enthusiasm leading me to doubt my abilities. The other track I'm considering is that of Language where emphasis is given to teaching French. I would really love to teach if only that profession paid as much as it is really worth. It is still my dream to teach at the UP. As I've said over and over, maybe when I get married and have children I would find that the hours working at a call center is much too much taxing to family life, I'll take the plunge.

Speaking of call center, I just got QAd today for the first time. Hearing myself reminded me how I hate my high-pitched voice. Blech. I learned something new though. Assuming is pronounced a-su-ming and not a-syu-ming. Other than that pronunciation is good. Yay. Other areas to improve are my not-yet-mastered skills of paraphrasing and affirmation. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep that in mind in the next calls I'll handle and earn a higher QA score next time.

Though a bit scary, I'm hoping that the same thing can be done for our French calls to improve our French communication skills, pronunciation, etc. French call center training too will be very much welcome. French emails are currently monitored and we get very good feedback. I'm not sure though if the same can be said about our phone conversations. Lol.
