Max Soliven passes away

Veteran journalist and Philippine Star publisher Max Soliven passed away Friday morning
at a hospital in Tokyo, Japan. Soliven succumbed to complications arising from pneumonia. He was 77 years old.

Soliven was with his wife, Preciosa, on a business trip to Japan at the time of his death.
Star news editor Marichu Villanueva said Philippine Ambassador to Japan Domingo Siazon was with Soliven in the hospital before he expired. His remains will be flown in today from Tokyo.

OMG. Overheard this just now and checked Google if it is true. It is.

I don't know I feel a little sad because his opinion column is the only one I read in the Star. I may not agree with most of his opinions but I kinda liked how he wrote.

Karla once shared this piece of juicy rumor to me: OB Montessori students are required to buy the Philippine Star. Husband and wife helping each other get richer. Lolx. XD

Hindi lang students ang required bumili ng Phil. Star, pati employees. And yes, binabawas nila yon sa sweldo ng mga employees nila. Tsaka andami nilang paraan para manlamang sa mga employees nila, many to mention.

Insan ko kasi guidance counselor doon. Daming nilalabag na sa labor code.

Nakakainis lang, bumabatikos siya pero madami din siyang nilalabag. He owns the school diba?

Talaga? Wow garapalan. Para lang sa pera ginaganyan nila mga tao. I am not sure if he owns the school. I thought it is his wife who owns it.

mali naman ang news. kaibigan ng ate ko ung kasama ni max soliven sa japan. hindi ba, papunta pa nga lang ung presiosa.

sabi nya siya lang ang nagdala kay Max sa ospital sa japan. lam ko sila na magka-live in matagal na. kinukwento sya sa min dati, hindi alam ni max na pinabibili ng diaryo ang mga student dun.
